VOTER ENFRANCHISEMENT PROJECT

VOTE TUESDAY!

NY STATE'S PRIMARY ELECTION IS TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th

Polls are open from 6 am – 9 pm

This November is about more than the Presidential election. In New York, all of the House of Representatives as well as the State Assembly and State Senate are up for election. The primary election this coming Tuesday, September 9th gives those of us who are registered to vote and enrolled in a party the chance to nominate our party’s candidates to represent us in the General Election on November 4th.

The candidates we elect in the primary and then in the general election will make critical decisions about taxes, education, healthcare, housing and the criminal justice system at the state and federal level. Let’s not miss this opportunity to make our voices heard in the legislative halls of Albany and Washington , D.C.

Know Your Rights at the Polls

- If you believe that you have the right to vote, and you are not allowed to cast a ballot, then you must be allowed to cast an affidavit/provisional ballot.

- You have a right to English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese language ballots in all 5 boroughs of New York City .

- Identification is usually not required. However, first time voters who registered by mail and did not provide identification at that time, are required to present identification at the polls. To avoid problems, we recommend that all voters bring photo identification to the polls.

- You may be assisted in the voting machine by any person of your choice (including a trained poll worker) except your employer or union representative.
