The Legal Action Center can help HIV-positive New Yorkers address a host of legal issues, including overcoming barriers created by a criminal record, HIV discrimination, confidentiality & testing, standby guardianships, living wills and health care proxies.
The Center also provides FREE TRAININGS for HIV service providers on these issues: Rights of HIV-positive people with criminal records. Anti-Discrimination Laws Protecting Individuals with HIV/AIDS, Alcohol/Drug Problems and Criminal Records Advocating for clients whose HIV confidentiality/testing rights were violated Legal Rights and Risks of Adolescents in the Age of AIDS Significant HIV confidentiality issues in your agency And, our lawyers can give staff of your agency free legal advice about HIV confidentiality, testing & discrimination issues.
