This webinar will cover the legal rights and potential liabilities of adolescents living with, at risk for or affected by HIV.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to describe when minors can, and cannot, make their own health care decisions when it comes to:

HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care
STDs and other communicable diseases
Alcohol and drug problems
Mental health
Reproductive health care
Summarize who has the right to decide about disclosing health information about minors:

When their parents are in the picture
When foster care, school, public health, child abuse and neglect, and juvenile or criminal justice systems are involved in their lives
Answer adolescent clients' and patients' questions about their legal rights in these areas
Describe the legal consequences of transmitting HIV to others
Audience: All health and human services providers who work with or advocate for youth at risk or living with HIV and/or with basic understanding of issues facing such adolescents.
