How to Create and Update Your Agency’s HIV Confidentiality Policies & Procedures - Webinar

This one-hour webinar is a capacity building session for program managers of hospitals, health care facilities, community based organizations and other organizations that must comply with New York State's HIV confidentiality law, Public Health Law Article 27-F. It will provide them with the skills, strategies and resources needed to develop and update their organization's HIV confidentiality policies and procedures and educate their staff to ensure compliance with the agency's policies and the law. By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
State the major requirements of the New York State HIV confidentiality law;
Develop agency-specific HIV confidentiality policies and procedures that meet legal requirements if the agency does not currently have them;
Conduct an annual review and update of their agency's HIV confidentiality policies and procedures;
Keep their staff current about HIV confidentiality issues and the agency's HIV confidentiality policies & procedures.
Prerequisite: Participants should have basic knowledge of Article 27-F and their agency's current HIV confidentiality policies and procedures.

Audience: Program directors, program managers, and supervisors who are responsible for (i) developing and updating their organization's HIV confidentiality policies and procedures and/or (ii) ensuring that staff are trained about and comply with New York State's HIV confidentiality law.
