The Coalition for Women Prisoners, coordinated by the Women in Prison Project of the Correctional Association of New York, is a statewide alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to making the criminal justice system more responsive to the needs and rights of incarnated and formerly incarcerated women and their families. Many formerly incarcerated women are a part of the Coalition, along with other advocates, service providers, clergy, academics, and interested community members. We encourage you to attend our monthly Coalition meetings and to request monthly updates from us through our email list serve or by mail. During meetings, members discuss solutions to the many challenges facing women involved in the criminal justice system through policy reform, advocacy, organizing, public education and networking.
