Fathers at Work was launched in 2001 in six sites across the country.3 Each site offered a com­bination of employment, fatherhood and child support services to low-income, noncustodial fathers ages 18 to 30. The initiative was funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. The National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL) provided technical assistance on fatherhood and child support, and Public/Private Ventures (P/PV) managed the initiative, pro­vided assistance on employment and evaluated the demonstration. This interview study is part of a larger evaluation that P/PV is conducting of the Fathers at Work demonstration, which enrolled 1,222 men across the six sites.
